Cervical Cytology (Pap Smear) with or without HPV/Hybrid Capture
Cervical cytology, also known as a Pap smear, is an in-office test used to detect cervical cancer and precancerous lesions.
Cervical cancer is one of the leading causes of death among Mexican women, and this test allows for early diagnosis, significantly increasing the chances of a cure.
When should it be performed?
It is recommended to begin Pap smear testing within three years of first sexual activity or by age 21, whichever comes first.
Frequency:
- The test should be performed annually until three technically satisfactory negative results are obtained.
- After that, it is recommended every two to three years.
Advanced Liquid-Based Cytology Technology
In our office, we use liquid-based cytology, recommended by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration). This is an improved version of the traditional Pap smear that has increased abnormal cell detection by 65% compared to the conventional method.
With this advanced technology, we offer greater accuracy and confidence to care for your gynecological health. Schedule your appointment and detect any anomalies early.
