The Gardasil vaccine provides protection against diseases caused by HPV types 6, 11, 16, and 18. These include:

- Oropharyngeal cancer.
HPV types 16 and 18 are responsible for:

Recommended vaccination schedule:
- Girls and boys between 9 and 12 years old: 2 doses.
- Up to 15 years old: 2 doses may still be administered.
- Ages 15 to 45 (men and women): A 3-dose schedule is recommended (administered at months 0, 2, and 6).
